FATHER TEODOR PETRUTIU:
Fr. Teodor Petrutiu has been serving as Parish Priest at the Sts. Constantine and Helen Church in Westland since 2007. Born in Sibiu, Romania, Fr. Petrutiu and his wife Roxana, came to the United States in 1998. He served a Romanian Orthodox parish in Cleveland, Ohio from 1998 until 2001, when he was accepted in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, under the omophorion of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit. Fr. Petrutiu served as deacon to the Metropolitan and Registrar of the Metropolis of Detroit between 2001 and 2007. Ordained to the Priesthood by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas in 2007, and the same year he was appointed as parish priest at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Westland, Michigan. Fr. Teodor and Presbytera Roxana have two daughters, Nicole 10 years, and Irene 8 years, both born in the U.S.
With the blessings and in the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit, Fr. Teodor Petrutiu and his wife, Presbytera Roxana Petrutiu were sworn in as American Citizens on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at the Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Westland. This ceremony marks the first time that an Oath of Allegiance has been administered in a Greek Orthodox Church.
